Did you Know?

There is a Society dedicated to Highland Cattle. It’s a serious business when it comes to rearing one of the oldest registered breeds of cattle in the world. They have lower levels of fat and cholesterol and a higher protein and iron content than other beef. There’s even advice on what to call your coo. Gaelic is preferred, but we’ve stuck to traditional popular culture!

By using thinner yarn and smaller hook, mine is just under 5 inches. I am an experienced crocher but I must admit it was a challenge. I felted nose and tongue. I love the final result, I will definitely make a regular size one at some point.

I adore this pattern, and although it is time consuming I was surprised at how easy it actually was to complete. The pattern is very easy to follow once you understand how the hair strands are incorporated, and there are lots and lots of pictures to help you along. This is my first one - Daiquiri the Strawberry Coo - but it will not be my last!

When I saw the pattern was 47 pages, I thought, “What did I get myself into?!” But quickly realized the length was due to the detailed instructions and step-by-step photos. The only challenges were “operator errors” (I misread a few instructions). In the end, the customer LOVED this finished product. Thank you!
